An Inviation to attend Hearts & Hooves' Level I Workshop on Equine Guided Therapy Programs in Hospitals, Seniors Homes, and Special Needs Schools working with Miniature Horses

Hearts & Hooves Canada’s Level I Workshop on Equine Guided Therapy Programs with miniature horses has been developed to guide others in establishing their own Mini Equine Therapy Programs.

Part 1 April 3-4-5
Part 2 April 17(pm) 18

This tuition-based workshop will give participants guidelines on how to start their own Mini Equine Therapy Programs; We will explore the uniqueness of working with mini horses in facilitating Equine Guided Therapy. We will emphasis the need for proper care, advocating for and respecting miniature horses. We will look at how to work with clients requesting equine therapy, how best to operate your individual programs, and much, much more!

Five Days of Extensive Hands-On Training
The Level I Workshop on Equine Guided Therapy Programs entails five intensive days of hands-on training, working with Hearts & Hooves Canadian Founder, our volunteers, Vets, Cordinators in facilities we visit, people we visit, and our minis.

.. We will visit a local Veterinary Hospital and discuss unique concerns and traits of proper mini horse care and maintenance.

.. Together we will look at how to find and recognize mini horses that want to be therapy animals.

.. We will breakdown our training process, as well as how we work with each horse through respect and cooperation.

.. We will discuss the legalities, liabilities, the special insurances, and safety measures we have developed and recommend.

.. We will work together and individually to resource how you wish to set up your Mini Equine Therapy Programs; possible places with in your community to visit, and how to set up visits.

.. We will go on a variety of visits with our Hearts & Hooves horses in our community.

.. We will look at how to develop and maintain a Volunteer Program.

.. We will look at how we work in part as a rescue organization.

Over the 5 days you are here at Hearts & Hooves you will explore what aspects of Equine Guided Therapy initiatives you wish to develop within your community and with whom you wish to visit. Hearts & Hooves Edmonton is looking for individuals whose goals align with our mission who may be interested in operating as Chapters of Hearts & Hooves Edmonton, anywhere in Canada.

If you are interested in attending we ask that you contact us to fill out an application form. Please understand that not all those who apply will be accepted to attend. Limited Space is available for our workshop in April 2008.
